Lessons

Students can expect lessons to be positive experiences and almost always fun! I love to learn about students’ past experiences and dreams for the future to incorporate them into the lessons. In addition to incorporating the student’s interests, I find music the student wants to learn (whether it is classical, pop, musicals, rock, or whatever they are interested in at that moment) and teach the techniques needed to reach their goals. Through this, practice is fun and, while not always easy, it allows students to see their quick development on their instrument.

All curriculum used for each student is specifically chosen with their interests and learning style in mind. There are some books that I regularly use for technique but the pieces are chosen specifically for each student. In addition, the music is stimulating, no matter if their learning speed is fast or if they need extra time.

Lesson prices:

• 30 minutes - $35 for individual lesson/ $120 for 4 lessons
• 45 minutes - $45 for individual lesson/ $160 for 4 lessons
• 60 minutes - $55 for individual lesson/ $200 for 4 lessons

Lessons are taught in my private studio which is supplied with a full size Yamaha keyboard and a music stand. Violin students are expected to have their own properly sized instrument. Piano students are expected to have an instrument to practice on at home.

Students are expected to put in the necessary amount of practice as recommended in the lesson.

All teaching is done in a smokefree and tree nut and peanut free studio.

Allergy warning- There are cats at the studio but they are not allowed in the lesson room.
